OUR HISTORY

CCB Community Bank (formerly Covington County Bank) was chartered in 1947 and began operations in July of that year in the building formerly occupied by the Andalusia Jewelry Company. CCB had five (5) employees on staff. The formal opening was in August with checking, savings and safe deposit boxes as the services provided to customers.

As CCB continued to grow through the 1950's and 60's several "first in the county services" were offered to our customers--the first auto window for drive-in banking services, 24-hour banking services with a mail slot for envelopes, bank-by-mail, Golden Passbook Accounts and BankAmericard (first and exclusive for the Andalusia area--an all-purpose, nationwide bank credit card providing a local credit card service that could be used nationally. It cost nothing and there were no annual dues.) CCB had an emphasis not only on serving its customers through new services but also serving its community through 'financial awareness' programs for farmers and all the citizens of the community.

On February 11, 1968, CCB held an 'open house' for the public after moving into its current location on East Three Notch. The new facility was 11,000 square feet and had a coffee shop and civic room available to the public after banking hours. In June of that year, CCB celebrated its twenty-second anniversary. Today, CCB has grown to 80 employees with an asset size of $258 million. On December 16, 2002 we opened our second location in Opp, AL. On July 30, 2007 we opened our third location in Crestview, Florida.

CCB's primary mission has always been to serve the banking needs of its customers. From its inception, CCB has also placed an emphasis on serving the community through participation in and sponsorship of community and civic affairs.
